Special? yes I would say that 16 batteries is special. He needs S60 to cart that many batteries around.

S-50 or 60? Ken has been there on tag axle clearance with long engine. Has stopped many 8V92/60 serries swap. Just a observation.. 50 would fit. Bob comments welcome.

16 batteries? I don’t know, maybe golf cart batteries where
2 required to provide 12 volts.

The description said the engine is from it from a H340 so
    that should be a 12.7 Series 60. I
measured every way I could think of and I don’t think a six speed Allison will
fit behind a Series 60 in a 40 foot XL that had an 8V92 because the tag axle is
under the transmission. Since the description says the engine is from a 1993
H340 I don’t think six speed Allison’s were available at that time. I’m guessing
his transmission is a HT 740 or 750 . They are much smaller and might work with
    the older axle configuration.

When Prevost installed Series 60 engines with 6 speed transmissions in the 40 foot XL coaches the structure of the tag axle changed to a “hoop” that arches over the transmission. Without that modification there will likely be interference issues. A 40 foot H3 was rare and I think they became 41 foot coaches to accept the series 60.
