I have a few Questions
Hello everyone,
My name is Thomas and my wife’s name is Carolyn. I have been on this forum for a while now and I really enjoy the dialogs between everyone. I have a few questions and I will get right to it. My wife and I are 55 and we are looking to add a Prevost to our family.
We already have a 38 foot DSP Newmar DutchStar that we love. We want to add an H3 Prevost for numerous reasons specifically Size of the bays, Big windows, Separate salon and so on. The years would be betwen 2007 to 2009. We know our budget and would like to keep it at 1 Mil. We have cash on hand so there will be no need for financing and we either want a Marathon or Liberty. I have been researching for a long time but I am having trouble finding this one answer. First How will I know if the Prevost has been equipped with an engine cradle upgrade, Two if it has not How much can I expect to pay for the Kit and install. I have no issue bringing it to a Prevost center for installation. I have read some coaches have had them professionally installed and some have had some back woods install. i/we want the pros to do the install.
I am not saying we want to tow heavy, that is not the case but I would like the option to tow more than 10K (Max 13K) if I wanted to without causing structural issues to the rear of the Prevost. I am looking for the skinny on this specific topic and I hope someone can enlighten me as to just that. If you have any questions or need more specifics from me I will reply asap.

I don’t know what campfire session you heard about hitch upgrade but that was many moons ago. The era your looking at hitches are rated at 20k lbs.
You don’t need to spend 1m for a 07 to 09 coach. I think you need some basic info.

I was just searching old PC posts and trying to put the pieces together. The cost was about 1 mil, we wanted to set a reasonable budget, yes we have looked at some around 699 to 799 very nice looking and the wife liked them too. The Elegant lady H3 is one of one our favorites as well. I do not believe we will have any regrets, but being a Prevost newbie and trying to understand this beautiful coach prior to making a purchase, I wanted to be armed with the most up to date knowledge and not rely on as you say campfire sessions.
