If you are talking about a device to carry a trike on the rear of the bus, make sure you observe the weight limits of the hitch receiver, even if the device gets attached to the rear structure at other than the hitch.

The limits (tongue weight) are usually 1000 pounds, but could be 1500 pounds a certain distance from the bumper, such as 6 or 8 inches. The further out the weight the lower the capacity. Failure to observe the limits is going to add substantial stress to the coach engine cradle and frame structure and is likely to result in damage.

Prevost will not stand behind or repair any damage due to exceedng those limits. There was a very good thread on this forum covering this topic in great detail.

I sold mine as the bike got way to dirty. I don’t recommend using one for that reason.

When I bought my coach, I was planning to install an Overbilt lift. I had used one on a previous motorhome and liked the way it operated and the way I could tow my car and have my bike along, too. But as I started checking into installing it on the Prevost chassis, several comments were made about welding or drilling on the motor cradle. It spooked me to the point of deciding against it.

I do own a BlueOx Sport Loader which works very well with my GoldWing in the back of an F-150. I have seen trikes in the back of pickups although I don’t know what kind of loaders they use. Good luck with your project.

Thanks Jon… and all that sent ideas and suggestions

We have decided NOT to the additional weight to the back of the coach… we DO NOT want any safety issues. The safety of my cargo is first and foremost!
