Huge “Shout Out” for PREVOST Service
Recently, we have been doing a lot of winter time maintance. As always, one thing leads to another.
While replacing the air bags, a decision was made to fully examine and upgrade the front end steering system. In this analysis, we determined, among other things, to replace the bushings and boots for the upper control arm. We contacted Prevost in Elgin and were assured that the bushings and boots were in stock in Florida and were being shipped.
We therefore removed the control arms and made arrangements to have the bushings pressed into place upon arrival of the parts. Unfortunately, 24 hours later, Prevost determined the parts were indeed not in stock. (They immediately ordered them from Germany where they are made). Problem was a ten day delay at least and my coach was sitting up in the air on supports and jacks … I was at their mercy.
After a brief very pleasant conversation with the manager of the department, Karla stated that they were responsible for the problem and they would solve it. She called back within 15 minutes and had located two new completely assembled control arms designed for the exact VIN number of my coach (which they had checked).She had Prevost ship the parts FED EX overnight at their expense. This is a 90 pound set up affixed to a pallet. They were here the next morning at 10 a m.
The new arms would have been priced at $ 575 each plus freight.( $1250).
In comparison, the costs of my parts would have been $465 plus $200 to press and labor for the mechanic to deliver and retreive.
She said how does $700 total for both sound? …delivered at their expense….
Now folks… that’s service and a high quality deal…
