  • Hub cap – Drive axle

Posted by Allan on July 31, 2017 at 7:23 pm

I recently purchased a new Drive axle hub cap to replace one that was lost sometime ago.

The hub cap attaches to the Drive axle by virtue of adhesion achieved through a rubber type collar that goes around the axle. The original is long gone and I would like to purchase a new one but do not know where to find one. Any suggestions?

The first photo depicts the type of hubcap and the second shows the axle minus the rubber collar.

I had those type hub caps on two coaches and they were held on with a saddle that was bolted to the hub and which had a threaded center bolt that the spinner in the center was threaded on.

    Allan,

Jon is right , Your lower picture You are missing the steel saddle. It has a threaded post in the center that the spinner nut attaches to to hold the hub cap on. Also in Your top picture You are missing the small locks screw that has an alan head. Which locks the spinner. The center post has outside threads for the spinner, and a threaded inside hole for the alan screw. The website Jon suggested is the only place I have found a direct replacement.

    Bsafe,

    Rocky
