How to Test Thermal Breakers
Does anyone out there know the procedure for testing thermal circuit breakers?
Pictured below is a Cole Hersee breaker which is a part of my A/C circuit. Unless the one in my bus and the one connected to my tow wiring in my truck are both bad, they don’t seem to be “normally closed” in such a way that a continuity tester works. Thanks!

That type of circuit breaker should have essentially zero resistance when closed, which is the normal position. The circuit breaker is bad if you have no continuity or high resistance.

I would add that “high resistance” would be any value approaching 1 ohm or greater.

Thanks. Ordered a new on and will test before I install – just to get a baseline.
