How to make Double pane insulated windows
Read an article a couple months ago for RVer’s. How to stop Windows radiate cold and heat. Went to Walmart bought Bubble wrap and spray bottle. The article says pre-cut bubble wrap to fit window, spray a mist of water on the glass then place bubble wrap smooth side against the window. Bubble wrap sticks well, Works great for cold weather but not so good for hot weather. Probably would need something with a reflective material.

comes in rolls at Lowes Even on windshield I put it down to 3 inches above sight line. Have checked with dot=As long as it does not impare line of vision. If you still have top windows will make huge differance. i covered side completly. Still see thru good except at night with lights on inside coach. It is a contact material (no glue) soap water install. FWIW bob

Hi Guys,
What are your thoughts regarding 3M insulating clear film…basically clear tint .
It could bring up the R value of our single pane XL windows without any change in appearance.

I know this is an old thread but the question is the same, has anyone tried the “Crystalline” window film from 3m on the windshield and un-tinted side windows?
They say it blocks half of the heat from the sun and we have some pretty large windows solar heat collectors.

on windshield keep 3 inches above line of sight from drivers seat. Meets legal def. When parked a outside shield is best /or insulated curtains

This is actually what I was referring to, it is legal for windshields.

has anyone put on one window and used a temp gun to check the temperature in front of coated window vs uncoated window

My oldest son uses the window tint on his ZL1 supercharged Camaro sides windows dark, front windshield clear, he says it stays really cool on hot days way better then before the tint. I think he said it is a ceramic film of some kind. I would like to put it on my front windshield.

I used this from Lowes. Made panels I can put in all windows and take out. Works Great!

We used the same stuff for our windows. My wife didn’t want to look at “bubble wrap” so she made covers for both sides of th3 bubble wrap out of cheap white sheets and spray adhesive.
