We just returned from a trip to New Orleans and we left the day before the snow was to begin. By the time we arrived in GA our coach was white from the salt and brine they were putting on dry roads.

Now that we are back there is zero evidence of snow so my guess the answer to the question is the snow depth was less than the salt depth. People from areas of the country where they have real weather would be scratching their heads.
