How do you get to view the top of your slideouts?
I know, using a ladder. But, I thought that there must be an easier and probably faster way to check for debris.
I do have a nice 16 feet telescoping ladder but it is stored away “in the back” with lots of other stuff on top, so it is a PITA having to drag the ladder out and to put it back. Anyways, for no particular reason, the words selfie stick came to mind. I hate selfie sticks. I have seen so many of them. Sometimes, you have to get out of their way because they are “sticking out” too far. Anyways, my thinking went like this. If I could find a stick that is reasonably long, I could attach my iPhone to it, raise the stick and take a couple of quick pictures. I looked around on eBay and Amazon and found one on Amazon. Very solidly built stick extending to 49 inches. It also has a built-in Bluetooth trigger. The description claims you can use it with an SLR camera. Given the solid built, that may be possible. Anyways, my theory for taking a couple of quick photos works. Here’s a photo. The Fugetek is $19.99 on Amazon.

You are fancier than me. I bought an extension mirror where the handle will telescope to about 48 inches. I pull out my 2 ft. step ladder and look on top of the slides. The mirror is a little small at 3.5 inches but I can manage to see what’s up there.
I don’t know why Prevost put a lip on the edge of the slide. It will catch things that fall on the top. I try not to park under trees if at all possible.
So, if we are under a tree and I find debris on top of the slide, I pull out my big folding extension ladder and use my extended handle cleaner and wipe off the top of the slides. Once done, I tell ‘C’ to put the slide in before anything falls down on it. I do this with every slide before departure only if we’ve been under a tree, etc.
I have not been able to find a longer handle’d extension with a larger mirror. I think mine was about $140 from Amazon.
