I hate to say the obvious because I know you likely have thought of this, but are you confident the traps have water in them? This includes traps for less often considered devices such as the dishwasher or the washing machine.

A second thought is that some fixtures are not vented through the roof but may make use of air admittance valves. Typically these are used where it is impractical to tie a drain into a vent stack. The kitchen sink might be such a location. The air admittance valve is generally a spring loaded check valve that will permit the introduction of air when the drain has flow, but once the flow stops a small spring returns the ball or flap to close the vent line which is tied into the drain and thus prevents odors from the holding tank to enter the coach. If the spring has failed the air admittance valve can be open allowing owners to enter the coach during times of negative pressure such as when the fan is on.

Thanks Jon, I filled all the p-traps but being new to motorhome washer/dryers I completely forgot about the washing machine! I did a load of laundry and no more smell, even with two fantastic fans drawing! So, what’s the easiest way to keep the washer’s p-trap full if I don’t use it regularly? I imagine it has a drain pump so I probably need to run a quick rinse cycle???

I have my digital devices set up to alert me at all times, and the system is so sophisticated it usually answers for me. Just like it is doing now.
