  • Horn wiring

Posted by Eric on September 30, 2019 at 9:00 pm

My horns have been working intermittently, both electric and the air horns. After much searching and testing, I believe I have found the problem. With the cap off the horn button, if I pull some on the wire or turn the wheel I can get the horns to work. There must be a short in the wire that goes down the steering shaft. My issue is I see the wire going down the hole in the shaft, but I can’t find where it exits. Does anyone know where this wire exits and what needs to be done to replace it?

    Go here:

    Then go to page XL-1405-00.

The page numbers are in the upper right portion on the pages.

Then look at the next few pages. Maybe it will point you in the right direction.

My horns either air or 12v did not work when I got the bus, I pulled horn cap off and cleaned contacts, been working ever since.
