  • Honest talk about the XLII Delamination Issue

Posted by Archived on April 28, 2013 at 9:27 pm

At a recent gathering this issue and the concerns surrounding it were on the minds of pretty much everyone with an XLII. So, I was asked to start this honest conversation in a way that will help all owners to get on the same footing, should they be found to have the problem.

If you haven’t already, sign up for the Prevost Users Posse (PUP) so that you can access the Private Forum. Once you sign up, email me at (zamboni15 at me.com) if you don’t get admitted right away. Within the next 24 hours I hope to have a web site problem addressed so that the forum titled Serious Business will show up here, followed thereafter by a discussion of everyone’s experiences with delamination and its repair and costs. Because PUP is member only and almost anonymous, discussions can be more honest. I will attempt to consolidate everyone’s information in a spreadsheet, even if that means you have to email me to consolidate offline.

My role will be only to facilitate the discussion and try to keep it anonymous, as I have not yet experienced this myself and have little to offer the discussion as of yet.

What does it take to join PUP? I’ve clicked on the link a few times. Maybe another glitch with original iPads.

That’s all it should take, Gil. There have been two problems
    with it, mostly me.

First, I have been terribly busy and just haven’t had the time to
    go check.

Second, the intent is to filter PUP so that it can be truly honest
and open, which means that someone has to actually KNOW who is
applying. Since I am still in the working world, I don’t get
around as much and know as many people by name, so I have to check
with others to make sure that you are eligible. What I am hopeful for
is that someday the system emails me a notice.

That said, I just added you to the forum. Welcome!

On the Forums page you should see a button at the top that says Private Forum. Click on it and fill out the info. Then email me at the address in the post above.

For everyone else, you should have been approved as of today. My apologies for the delays.
