Hey Josh, thanks for reaching out. I’m going to be in Loudon this weekend and visiting Nashville on friday (Olympia coaches) so not sure if I will be able to get to ETLC since you are closed on the weekend. I have been there one time and I know there’s a coach from Sewell still there (right) which I wanted to see…do you ever open for off-hours?

I think Doug has 1 or 2 coaches here currently. We generally aren’t opened on weekends, Jeff is in some saturdays but mostly just to focus on coaches that need a little more love. occasionally i can come in if someone is unable to make a trip during the week.

I may be able to come by friday afternoon after coming back from Nashville, but not sure. What are your hours? Monday too?

Well things just didn’t pan out for the visit to Nashville and ETLC so it looks like it will be another time. 🙁

Hi Josh –
John Hawkins recently brought a 2002 Featherlite H3 to you guys for an undercarriage survey (his words). I’ve been discussing the bus with him for a few weeks. Do you recall the bus? Did you guys do an inspection like a full PDI? Can you share with me any findings that would be necessary to repair or look into? I’m going to be going to visit it soon and will likely bring it by you guys if I am encouraged by it’s condition (and see if it can be driven to Prevost Nashville too for a full inspection etc.).
Thanks!
Andy

I don’t recall fully what all was done here. i believe that coach was a non slide h chassis. i know we had repaired a few normal air leak issues and did a visual inspection. i don’t recall how in depth we went. John Hawkins is a good guy and i have not seen or heard of him trying to pass off a coach that wasn’t honestly represented. Obviously every coach will most likely have some minor issues that might have been missed and that’s where a buyer should test every function and fully understand when parts have been serviced or replaced. If you have any questions give us a call and i should be able to have someone who worked on the coach answer questions better than i can.

Andy: I presume John Hawkins is still in the Chattanoga area which is only a few hours from ETLC, Josh, and Jeff in Vonore, TN. Fly to Chattanoga, ride to ETLC with John in the coach, and have Jeff Rowe and his crew do a full pre-purchase inspection. That way both you and John will know the full story on the coach. Our coach was 18 miles from the ETLC shop when we were looking at it and Jeff did an inspection and identified the deficiencies which entered into the negotiation. Once a deal was finalized Jeff got the coach in his shop and I started spending money on it.
Prior to buying our coach I rented 26′ Class C’s twice and rented a 40′ early 1990’s Prevost for a weekend. I so got into the Prevost club with very little previous experience.
Good luck! Keep us posted.

Dick, you are correct, he’s near the border of TN/GA. My plan was to drive up there (I’m in Charleston, SC) and take a look at the bus, but yes, driving it to RTLC from there with John makes sense. My hope is to get things fixed within the purchase period so I can finance those repairs into the loan. Yes, I’m not paying cash. Spare me the financial advice please.
Josh, thanks for the quick response…I’ll give you guys a call on monday.
