Looking for comments on suitability for XL45 and I’m pulling a 29′ stacker. Girl on phone says they have trailer parking on a road outside park but I can’t see anything significant on aerial views. Also, interior sites look like a lot of LOW hanging trees.

We stayed at HH harbor in April on a site near the office with no problem. There are a lot of trees in the park but we did not have to drive through the park to get to or from our site. The road leading from Hwy. 278 to the park has room to park on the shoulder but there were lots of boat trailers parked there to access the boat ramp. I think you would have to unhook and park the trailer before entering the park with the coach. We had to unhook and hook up our Wrangler on the road.

The staff was very hepful and seemd very knowledgeable and I guess I’d rely on their advice. But it is tight. Arriving early around noon, at check out time, might give you more options. But if you drove down the road leading to the park and couldn’t find room to park the trailer I’m not sure how you would get turned around to leave…. maybe driving through the park and back out?

Me again. Skidaway Island State Park at Savannah might be an option… about 1 1/4 hours from HH Island. Very nice park with long pull throughs. 50 amp, water but no sewer.

Having been there just last week- pulling a stacker could be very challenging. You probably could pull into the park and circle thru the tight streets and come back out on Jenkins Rd (only way to get in and out) to position your stacker on the side of Jenkins road for parking. There is also a boat ramp that you could attempt to back into and turn around -however that would not be my preference.

Lots of large RVs and fifth wheels are in the park so apparently the trees have not kept them out. Hilton Head is an island of trees – lots of trees, Everything is either under a tree or behind a tree! Good Luck!

Hwy 278 is so busy its almost impossible to pull out on 4 to 6 pm.

I guess I’ll be challenged! Gave in to pressure from SO yesterday and made the reservation. It’ll all work out eventually, I hope!!
