High Quality Tire Air Pressure Gauge??
Hi,
We are in need of and would appreciate recommendations for the brand name of a really high quality / accurate tire pressure gauge that can “reach” the valve stems of the outer drive axle tires which face away from the roadway. The current gauge I have can only take readings via valve stems that face the roadway and I would like to order an accurate, dependable gauge right away. (Hopefully from Amazon)

Get a TPMS from Tom and read the pressures and temperatures from the dash or your phone. It will give you alerts of low pressure or high heat while driving. Most all the truck stops have decent double head tire gauges. Have each axle weighed and run the correct pressure. Search the archives on the subject, you will find a lot of information that may or may not be useful. But it will be entertaining…
Do you have 365 tires ? Search that also…

This is the one I use. I changed the tire chuck to a straight one and every time I use it I give it a shot of air whether I need to adjust pressure or not, just to clear the valve seat of any foreign matter that may prevent a seal.
This is Griot’s garage and the one I have which I have had a long time is digital and is always right on or within 1 PSI of the Pressure Pro.
I am sure there are others of a similar nature. I was a pain using a tire pressure gauge and then having to use a tire chuck but with both in a single device if is a lot more convenient. If I remove the tire chuck and I still sense a leak it takes nothing more than another shot of air to seat the vbalve.

What about the system that comes on the newer Prevosts? Does it give the same readings as the Better TPMS SYSTEMS AS TO PRESSURE and Temps? Thank you

Even if you get/have pressure pro you still want a good inflator with gauge. Somewhat like Jon’s, I got this one….
It has a night light! Which is nice. And it’s “certified” whatever that means…. but it seems accurate.
i also bought the long chuck separately from amazon. They are also at every truck stop.

I have been using the same unit as Waltshires for almost 4 years. Only issue I have had was one battery replacement. Pressures have always been within 2 pounds of my Alcoa gauge I use as for an accuracy/consistency check and I have been pleased with its performance. If I had access to the dues $ I would have originally purchased the Griot gauge Jon uses.

My gauge was a gift from Roger and every time I use it I think of him. I think we swapped gifts because a long time ago I bought a Gearwrench screw driver set and its quality was so good I bought one for Roger. There are some things that are so good it just seems it would be a shame to not share them with friends.

John: I bought the same one on your recomendation. I mentioned that to Griot and they said they would acknowledge the referral. Did you get anything?
How did you change the air chuck? Isn’t the chuck crimped on?

The chuck was threaded on and I replaced it with an extended straight chuck as pictured above.
