  • High idle problem

Posted by Georges on November 10, 2012 at 9:41 pm

It worked fine, then all of a sudden it doesn’t work anymore. Had it checked out while it was in the shop for fan gearbox service, the mechanic said high idle works fine from the back and the problem seems to be somewhere near the dash switch itself or very near there, he didn’t have time to finish tracing it as I had to leave.

This is under driver’s area, the circled area sometimes leaks air after I shut engine down, if I turn off the valve it stops. Could this possibly have anything to do with it or should I look into the parking brake pressure switch and where is it located?

Sorry for all the dumb questions, I know how to fix cars but I am new at this Rv stuff, this being my first one ever.

    Hi Georges,

From what you describe the high idle problems sounds like a bad switch or bad relay or loose wire.

I don’t recognize the valve in the picture. I don’t think I have that but I will look.

George where does the black tubing with the red collar connector go? When you turn the ignition off does air exhaust out the other side of the fitting? I have something like this solenoid on my Aux Compressor between the check valve and the compressor that exhaust air out of that area of the tubing so the compressor doesn’t have to start up against a head pressure.

Tom, here is a larger pic of the area, it’s inside just below the driver area:

Greg, I will check it tomorrow thanks.
