    Help with removing caliper slide pins

    want to change slide pins and the internal hex bolt is not coming free with 4 foot torque wrench setup.

    hex starting to deform even though fully inserted. (cleaned out pocket and soaked with pb)

    ideas?

    Here’s how I do it on my Meritor brakes:

    Remove cotter pin
    loosen nut 2 to 4 turns
    push IN on nut
    slide pin out

    I have the Bremske brand. M14 internal hex at around 300 foot-lbs- stretch bolt single use.
