  • help- pops the breakers

Posted by Marius on November 12, 2015 at 6:58 pm

I have an opportunity to put the coach in a building tomorrow and brought it home overnight so that it is closer.

I am trying to plug it into the 20 Amp house outlet like I have done before and now it pops the breakers- tried 2 different circuits, one with GFI and one without .

I have tired all 3 inlets – Port, Sarboard and cord reel with 50/30/20 adapters.

It worked before fine on the side ports with a marine cable I bought and the 30 to 20 amp adapter.

If I don’t sort it out I can not plug it in the building tomorrow.

Any ideas what to look for ?

If I start the generator everthing works fine, all outlets function, GFI’s are not popping inside the coach, all good.

Jeff had it in the spring at the shop and was plugged in the 50 amp and that seemed to be fine when the coach left his shop.

    What to do ????

    Figured it out.

Can not use a GFI period. Will trip it as soon as the plug is attached.

On the regular outlet, 20 amp, I had to shut off the charger circuits and turn only one on after the power is connected.

It sucks about 22 amps (reading on the panel) but seems to be stable and won’t trip the breaker- yet….

    I will monitor it.
