  • HELP – Need 2 Bunk or Easy One to Convert to Bunks

Posted by Kurt on March 9, 2017 at 8:27 pm

    Hello All,

I know how you guys like spending other peoples money so this could be fun!

Shanna is browbeating me to get a bus with bunks, and I can’t take it much more! She almost bought an Elegant Lady yesterday because I cannot find her one with bunks fast enough! I know, like finding hens teeth. Budget is $350 – $450 cash. If you have one, or know of someone with one, please pass the word. All models will be considered! We can buy now or whenever convenient for you within the next six months or so.

    PLEASE HELP NOW!!!

Love to spend someone else’s money after I spent all of mine after a week at Prevost and Marathon! Check out the Marathon site. Several coaches have a mid-coach wardrobe that could possibly be converted to bunk beds. Check out coach numbers 985, 972, 953 (nice, but a but higher), and 877.

Marathon has an 06 bunk coach if memory serves me and it was on display at the Tampa show.

I too wanted a bunk coach and Marathon certainly has concentrated on bunks more than any other converter. Marathon has a number of layouts where the side closet has the same footprint as the bunks for an easy conversion. Marathon Oregon did this to my coach for about $9,000 3 years ago.

Rather than the extra expense of adding air conditioning to the bunks, I had a fan built into each bunk that draws from the bath/bedroom hallway air that makes the space comfortable…no complaints.

You can see I left the clothes rack on the top which I used periodically since Jimmy’s closet space is limited.

Thank you Per, Geo, and TG. Laurie, yours looks like exactly what we’re looking for! We would be fine with that conversion. The angled “walk in” hall closets I’ve seen in the ’04 neighborhood are only about 5’6″ or so and wouldn’t fit many adults. Yours looks like its over 6′. I’ve been looking at all the bunk stuff I can find that has sold in past and like you said, most are Marathons, followed by Featherlite. Did see one Liberty.

Anyone else no of anything that may be coming up for sale?

    Thanks again.

they had a marathon with bunks at busforsale

i toured this bus (rather quickly) as it was out of my price range.

    http://www.busforsale.com/mobile/buses/bus_detail.php?bus=1104&name=Doris

but it does have bunks installed, and I think they fit adults.

The people at bus bus for sale are very nice and not at all pushy. They should have a check in sheet to give you some idea of what the bus has before you travel there.

Also – since it is Nashville you could arrange it to be take. To Prevost for inspection of the outer skin. I don’t remember any issues outside – but again, I didn’t spend much time looking.

    Best of luck –

We have a beautiful 05 Royale for sale. Well over $100k in upgrades put in the coach over the past year. Three bunks, plus you have a full size queen hide a bed sofa in the salon to sleep two more. The other sofa in the salon is capable of sleeping one more as well. The base manually pulls out to give you an extra 10″ – 12″ of depth on the sofa bottom … https://prevostcommunity.com/CFSinfo.asp?ID=3191
