Heavy Corrosion-Above Front Bumper
Posted by Mike, 92 Country Coach on August 27, 2023 at 3:58 pmI have been wanting to address the chrome starting to lift on these 3 parts so today was the day and Wow, what a mess underneath.

those bezels are like unobtainium. I have some chrome plating lifting on the corners of mine, thought I might be able to source nice replacements either through Prevost, IBP,…etc. NOPE.
So only thing I can do is have mine re-chromed. My bus has had the XL2 ‘like’ light upgrade done in the past by Excalibur, my understanding is removing the bezels at this point will potentially damage the light housing. I guess I’ll figure it out when I dig into it.

Mine came off real easy, maybe 10 minutes everything was apart including drilling out the rivets. I can bet if yours are bubbling you have heavy corrosion on the back side. I dropped mine off at the sandblaster this morning.

yeah that’s possible, we’ll see. Mine don’t have rust bubbles which I’m familiar with, it’s more like flaking from improper surface prep.

Take a picture of it, let’s see. Hey by the way we have a common friend, His Name is Terry. I met him in Quartzsite a couple years back, great Guy, very knowledgable, knows the Detroits like the back of his hand.
