Heater Line Shutoff Question
My over the road air hasn’t been cooling. So while testing something’s yesterday I shut off both heater line shutoffs in the engine compartment and my ac started cooling. I am wondering if the issue is a bad solenoid. If that is the case, is it ok to run with heater line shut off till I can fix or address the issue?

Sounds like your A/C control is calling for coolant to blend to maintain a given temperature. I don’t have bus air, but I shut off my coolant loops in the summer for my dash air for exactly that reason. That way if my temp control is not closing off the coolant loop as it should, at least no hot coolant can degrade my A/C air.

When you get a chance, take a pic of the coolant loop & shut-off.
I think I found mine where you said earlier, but I don’t want to shut off the water heater or other fluild loop that could mess something else up.

Gentleman may I throw in a question here? I can only find one engine compartment collant shut off on my 91 Prevost Marathon XL 40 with road air only. Is this possible? Thank you.. Mr Guy

I don’t think there is a standard answer to the question. First there are variables within the Prevost chassis, and they seem related to whether the coach has OTR or just driver’s air.
Then some, if not all converters have modified the Prevost system some extensively. When they do that there are multiple shut off, loops, and a variety of ways to shut off or open sections.

I have W=6553 1998 XL45-E It went to converter with no extra add on such as pro heat/Webasco. There fore the two shut off in engine compartment close loop. This will also close loop to defroster. You can go to prevostcar.com and see how your coach went to converter. Use Mth in description and the last letter in your serial number= year and last 4 numbers= unit number. Example mine is W-6553.
