heart charger inverters
There are two heart inverter chargers in the bay with the house power fuses. One of them the fan cycles on and off when under a load. Is one doing most of the work?? If when you connect shore power and turn on the two displays in the bottom of the breaker panel the charging process starts for the house batteries how do you tell when its finished charge?? The book says it times out but how do you know? The red lights on the little controll panels always look the same . the load will go up and down with use of things i just want to make sure they are not always on charge coz it could hurt the new lifeline house batteries.

I upgraded the Heart inverters on my later model Liberty due to lack of flexibility. I am told it is important that the charging profile of the inverter matches the battery type. Consult your inverter manual to be sure you have a way to accomplish this.

The manual for the Freedom 25’s is available online, yours are probably Heart Interface but they are now supported (kind of) by Xantrax. Google it!
Sounds like you do not have the Link 2000’s controls, although they are available and I do believe may be a direct replacement, more control. The battery chargers will work anytime external A/C power is plugged in or generator running, hence the light. Once charged the system reverts to a float charge no changes with you lights I do believe. Fan cycling could be the control board for the fan, there are authorized service centers all over the place to change that if need be. The DC portion of the system is bussed together, the AC is not, consult your schematic. Should your units be blue and white they are the later model Freedom 25, if they are all black, they are earlier. Make certain the dip switches are set for your new batteries, manual explains how that is done…..Have Fun!

I have the books on the inverter/chargers and i have set the dip switches for the new batteries. After another look at the books i am wondering if Liberty might have used an isolator and used one of them to charge the engine batteries that will also equalize with the other two batteries in the engine compartment

Liberty does not mix the house and chassis. They maintain a separation between the two. To maintain or recharge the chassis Libertry sometimes installs what their electric panel calls a 24 volt charger dedicated to the chassis batteries.
If you have an Elegant Lady Liberty will use an equalizer dedicated to the house batteries because the conversion has both 12 and 24 volt devices and the equalizer is insuring the house batteries are all charged properly.
