  • Headlight adjustment?

Posted by Art on December 4, 2021 at 9:55 am

I Installed new headlight buckets and LED lights and new LED driving lights (Fog lights) Before I removed old lights and buckets I turned lights on in the RV building and put some blue tape on wall in front of bus (5 feet) away in the middle of light beam. When I pulled old buckets out I measured the 3 points on bucket and tried to set new buckets the same. After I install new LED’s lights with the new buckets it seemed pretty close to the blue tape I put on wall, The driving lights not a clue how to set them. I don’t know if the headlights lights were set right in the 1st place. Any thoughts how to set them? I haven’t finished put the grill back together until I check lights at night.

    Art:

Been playing with mine for awhile. Tried the various methods found on internet post and Youtube. None seamed to work well. Ended up parking on a flat dark back street at night and adjusting the beams up & down and in and out until they looked right. The looked right part came from watching other cars, trucks, buses going down the road at night while I was driving.

From my observation, Beginning of drivers beam should be about 12-15 ft in front of you and just to the inside of the line that divides the lanes on the drivers side. Beginning of passengers beam should be the same 12-15 ft in front of your and on the line that marks the outside of the lane on the passengers side.

This is not scientific or proven in anyway. Just seams to match what I see in most of the big rigs going down the road and gives me good visibility without bothering other drivers.
