  • Heading Out…..

Posted by Jim on October 13, 2014 at 8:05 am

This is the first year the wife and I have no obligations for the holidays so we are leaving on the 20th for a 6 months travel stint. We start the journey heading down I-75 to Jeff’s (arrive on Tuesday evening 21st and have the service done on the 22nd) for a few items that need attention before we start. Jeff is going to fix my communication problem between the silver leaf and the transfer switch, replace an air solenoid on my entry step cover, put on a few ball joints to isolate the converter air items and give the coach a once over.

We did the chassis service, trans service, flush radiator and change all fluids and filters along with the belts so the coach should be strong for the journey. After Jeff’s we’re going to Sieverville (two rivers) for a few days, over to Nashville for a week, then Naples to see my sis in law’s movie premier and then in St. Augustine for the Holidays. Back to Naples to visit family flying in from Michigan on December 26th, then blue water key for a week before ending up back in St. Augustine till April 15th. We’re going to look for events and rallies while in Florida so once a month we take off for a new destination.

This will be the first time in 12 years that we can hit the road for that long and really looking forward to the experience. Hope to see some of you on the road, we’ll be looking for the prevost community signs in the resorts we visit. If anyone wants to try out St. Augustine where we own a site let me know and I will make sure you get an ocean front location that is easy to get into and out of. If you haven’t visited the oldest city in the nation it truly is a wonderful spot.

It’s on our list Hish……I’m sure there will be some “cold” spells in St. Augustine so I’ll contact you for a site recommendation when we plan on coming over.

Hey Jim & Marijane, Arrived at Jeff’s today. Hopefully (for the pocketbook’s sake) we’ll be gone before you get here. Maybe we can hook up sometime this winter in Fla.

Jim – Great adventures lie ahead for you, it’s great you can do the bus thing for an extended period, we’re jealous.

C & G – Go easy on Jeff, last week aged him and there was 5 of us pressing all his buttons, but he held up pretty good. I didn’t get in on the steak dinner he hosted aboard the lake boat, but everyone said it was first class, at least until they got their bill….

We had a great all around visit at Jeff’s… lots of things done to the bus, beautiful area… it was our first visit to TN and we were impressed in fact we loved it.

Jeff and his crew were also very impressive and the working atmosphere was great… we were in and out of the bus all day long and they didn’t seem to mind at all… I liked that, as the days were long and there was so much being done and as Tom said we were all needing to get back home asap.

I have since thought of a few things I wish I had remembered to get done but I guess I’ll start my list for our next visit, hopefully next summer we will go back and take our grand daughter and daughter to Dollywood while getting a few more things done.

If one can rate service centers 1 to 5 stars then Jeff’s place gets a 5 star rating from us.

    Thanks so much Jeff !!

I was just at Jeff’s in September…….my experience there was one that I just won’t go anywhere else to service my coach. We usually make Nashville our first stop for service over the years but not anymore. I’ll be pulling into Jeff’s on Tuesday evening for a Wednesday service date. Aside from what I believe will be an easy fix for my silver leaf I really want to work again on air leaks and find the reason the aux air guage is bouncing between 110-120 while driving.

I’ve taken notes and am asking Jeff to check the parking brake diaghram, aux comp air valve, engine mini bag air valve, tag valve and while I’m there I want to put on some ball valves to isolate the converter items since there are so few on my coach. Jeff is also fixing an air leak we discovered in my step cover last time I was there and I’m having him put on a new fuel line at Peter’s recommendation.

Jeff’s is a great way to start a vacation!!! Maybe we’ll see you there Corey.

We live just South of Nashville but have purchased a lot in The Gardens in Crossville, TN. Instead of being 3 hours from E TN Lux Coach, we will only be 1 hour once we build and move.

Here is a link to a very preliminary floor plan of our RV House. Comments welcomed. Once you click on the link, click Download and it should open in most any web browser.
