It is likely the flush valve might have some debris in the small hole in the diapraghm that controls the water flow. The switch actuates a solenoid in the flush valve that trips the diaphraghm opening the water flow. The small hole allows water on one side of the diaphraghm to flow to the other side to enable the valve to shut off and seal.

You can probably find the flush valve on the ceiling of the water compartment or it may be located inside the coach under a cabinet near the rear of the toilet. Just follow the clear braided line. Six screws hold the two halves together and then it is just a simple matter of opeing it up, removing and cleaning the diaphraghm and the interior of the valve and the problem should be solved.

On my 01, I think the layout was like yours being a Classic, everything was behind the toilet accessed by removing all the panels surrounding the toilet. You can get a rebuild kit for the flush valve like Jon has suggested. I did that, but my problem ended up being the timer. My symptons were different, very long flushes no matter what adjustment I made to the timer. Suggest you replace timer and button (new style) and rebuild the flush valve. If you replace the timer, button and rebuild the flush valve, there isn’t anything left to go wrong unless one day the flush valve quits running. That’s the great thing about the Headhunters compared to Microphor’s, easily repaired and not real expensive.

You can check the timer real easy. Put a meter on the flush valve solenoid wires and push the flush button. The solenoid is going to get a momentary signal and then the signal will stop. If the signal continues the problem is with the timer as Tom suggested.

The reason I did not mention that was because you said when you turned off the water pump, stopping the flow and then turned it back on that the toilet stopped. If it was the timer it still would have powered the flush valve solenoid.

I had the same problem, it was my timer.

Our timer got to the point it had a mind all it’s own. Never knew how long it would flush. Now we have control of the flush time. I replaced the timer with a push button switch. Push the button and it flushes as long or as short as you hold the button. The button helps to save water when dry camping.
