I think you have to get at the underside of the toilet Les, but that is a guess. You can find out if you are willing to be a risk taker.

Loosen one of the fasteners. At some point it will be so loose that if the nut is not captive you will not be able to loosen it any more because the nut will just spin because it is not in contact with anything to resist spinning. If you can unscrew the entire fastened and you don’t hear the nut or rear threaded portion drop to the floor behind the toilet life is good.

If it is not a captive nut and you don’t want to go any further hold something under the leg on the toilet seat assembly to pull the nut back into contact with something so you can re-tighten it.

Or you can just contact Headhunter and ask them the question, but what’s the fun in doing the safe thing?????

Les, just include the toilet seat on the pre-trip check list. We always would put it down before driving so it would not bang when we were moving.

Now we have the slow close seat and we have removed that item from the check list.

But there ain’t no way I would change seats just to get that feature. We have it because I changed the entire toilet and the new toilet had it.

With dogs, we always have our toilets fully closed up. None of this foolishness of cover up, seat down… You never see toilets advertised with them open. You never see show homes with them open. I don’t want to look in your toilet as I walk by your bathroom….

Also, our dogs don’t need to think of them as procelain water bowls… 🙂 🙂
