Jetpaq was phased out many years ago. You’ll have to switch to something like Grundfos or Headhunter Mach 5. You will likely have to change some fittings as well.

DT, we replaced our Headhunter Mach 5 last summer. After talking with Headhunter (very nice and helpful, btw) with like. We wanted to carry a spare, so they told us if we sent the the metal label off the old pump, they would do a considerable discount for another had we known about that before ordering one on line, we could have bought first replacement much cheaper. I think it was around $11000.

you might call them during the week. From photos i “googled” of ea the Mach 5 and Jetpaq, they look similar in the positioning of connections

Be aware the Jetpaq had a built-in accumulator tank and the Mach 5 does not. I had to install a tank when I changed pumps.

Regardless of whether the pump has a built in accumulator tank or not, if the coach has a headhunter toilet there should be an accumulator tank as close to the toilet flush valve as possible.

I have done that and have a tiny Shurflo 60PSI pump as a emergency back uo to the headhunter pump and I can still flush the toilet. Without the accumulator tank I would never get a complete flush. I did that so I would not have to share a toilet with 10,000 of my closest friends at a rest area.

Hello, what is involved in the installation of the external accumulater tank? My JetpaQ when turned off, the pressure would immediately go away..

You need to find a location where you can install the accumulator as close to the toilet flush valve as possible. It will work for the whole house, but its proximity to the toilet will assure the toilet will flush completely.

See the above photos. I had no room in the water bay so the bathroom was right above it making the undersink location practical.

My coach also has another accumulator tank, but it located so far away from the toilet flush valve water could not flow into the valve fast enough or with enough volume.

Assuming you have no other accumulator tank, you need to. The mach 5 will run often for short periods of time without an accumulator.

When I installed my new mach 5 w/o accumulator, it overheated from frequent cycling and shut itself off. Of course, my fresh water temp was over 100F so your mileage may vary!!!

I have very little room left in my Water Bay. I just got in a 2 gallon accumulator tank but it is too big to fit.

What option is best?

1) try to find a 1/2 gallon or so small tank that would fit in my bay.

2) Install the 2 gallon tank under my bathroom sink. (This is on the opposite side of coach maybe 10 feet away from bay valves

Thoughts?

I placed my accumulator under the bathroom sink, It is a Shurflo 2 gallon and fit nicely in the cabinet. See photos above.

Is the shureflo just for flushing or is the flow enough for showering, washer, etc.

The primary water pump is the Mach 5, but if it fails I have a low flow Shurflo pump which is about 1.2 GPM and a 60 PSI shut off. I can close valves to and from the Headhunter pump, and open the valves to and from the Shurflo pump. The intent is to not be inconvenienced by a failed Mach 5, and to allow the completion of a trip so I can replace the Mach 5 in my garage and not on the road.

The added accumulator when fully pressurized allows for a complete flush of the toilet. The Shurflo pump is adequate as a back up and will be OK for washing dishes, showering and for fully pressurizing the accumulator so it works as a back up. I do not think it will allow multiple toilet flushes or taking a shower and flushing the toilet unless or until the accumulator tank is fully pressurized.
