Have You Checked Your Dog Bones?
Right away every dog owner is jumping to this thread.:)
On my last trip of 5,000 plus miles, Ms Truk keeps yakking at me about hearing some noise under the right front when we hit bumps. I, like many of my macho bus buddies, tell her I don’t hear or see anything after checking with a flashlight. Of course the comment comes back that I couldn’t hear a freaking freight train, so go figure. She makes this comment to Jeff on our way home in September when I stopped to drop off certain Canadian goodies he had to have causing me a tense moment at the US border. I keep making smoke with no worries about a noise I can’t hear.
So before I left Horne Drive today, he hijacked my bus and put it on the lift so as to suck up to Ms Truk next time he see’s her. Well, she was right as usual.:(
Here’s what dog bone bushings look like when they’re Tango Uniform. You probably have them front and rear.
It sure was quiet on the way home and Jeff wrapped this up as a present for you know who….

When we did the under coach inspection at the seminar weekend that is something we probably did not emphasize enough. Jeff pointed out the issues with the bushings and suggested the red ones get replaced with black ones such as what is used on shocks.
I know from experience that if the red bushings begin to show the slightest sign of failure their life span can be measured in tens of miles. Once they start to lose pieces they disintegrate over a few miles of travel. I have replaced all my red bushings with the black ones just as a preventive measure and my expectations are that I will never again have to replace them. It just takes a few minutes to replace them so next time your bus is being serviced it might be a worthwhile thing to add to the lost of tasks.

I had the same noise in mine, I stopped by Jeff’s one day a couple of months ago, he changed all of mine to the black rubber ones, changed my oil and filters, and I was gone in 2 hours!
Mine is quiet again, and seems to drive better.
