Have not posted anything of value …

So here we are, in Van Horn, Texas, on our way to the Grand Canyon.
After staying for a couple of days at Buckhorn in Kerrville (in a 75ft pull-in with waterviews!), Van Horn sure looks different.

Looks like a nice place. How did you find it? I don’t see it on the PC Map.

Stayed there many time, even back when it was a KOA. Was the restaurant open? The one doing the cooking was German.

I’ve stayed in a 100′ pull through where I was 5′ over in the front and 5′ over in the rear with my 25′ trailer. I asked them where they got their tape measure and then asked them to give me my money back.. Wouldn’t have been a jerk if I hadn’t talked to them on the phone a couple hours earlier and asked them followed up with an explanation of what I was coming in with. got my money back and went down the road.
Most west TX is dry as a popcorn fart without even butter flavoring right now. I was in Wichita Falls earlier this week, followed by amarillo. The difference in 250 miles was huge in terms of dryness.
I’m missing central florida big time right now.

We were in a place just like that. The space was on a slant so the spot was trapezoidal and they measured from the 2 furthest points of the trapezoid. I was not happy.

Ronald,
We’re in Carrabelle, Florida on our way to Fort Worth. The good news is the stacker is back in Sanford. Safe travels and best to Gabi. See you next year at Pelican.
-
Nice pic Ronald, I know you’re going to get the stacker painted to match.
We just landed at Marathon San Antonio, long rainy windy day from Foley.
You guys missed a great slime ball fest…..

It looks like the stacker is sticking way out behind the site but that is not the case at all. All the sites in this row are 110ft.
As for travelling with the stacker, in the 2 years that we have been towing it, there has been only 1 situation, where we were forced to unhook.
Everywhere else, we got in and we got out without unhooking.
Of course, I learned fast from my mistakes when taking tight turns.
All in all, we love having the stacker. Car in the bottom, kayak trailer with 2 kayaks on top as well as 2 bicycles, my tools and workshop and dry goods and canned supplies. Just added a 90 quarts cooler/freezer, too, so we can take advantage of buying food and adult beverages when the opportunity arises.
🙂

If you are asking about Buckhorn, as in Buckhorn Lake RV Resort, it is on the PC map:

Was wondering about Van Horn. Isn’t that Van Horn in the first picture in the first post of the thread?

Dick if you’re talking about the above post, Van Horn is 120 miles West of Fort Stockton and hardly nothing end between.
