My 1990 Marathon side aisle has one safe in the front closet on the hall side (I think that’s the one you found) and the other was under the bed. The one under the be is just one of those small fire safes you can buy anywhere.

Thanks.. It sounds like we have the same style coach. I have a locksmith coming out later today and wanted to make sure about the second safe. I kept hearing about one under the bed, but now know that it was a free standing one. That makes sense. I have learned a lot about this coach by looking behind everything.

i had an interesting experience with ours. We have a small safe under the bed, just large enough for one or maybe 2 stacks of bundled 100’s. We had 1 key only and wanted at least 1 or 2 spare keys. Easier said than done.

the original key looks like one of those keys you may find in a medival castle. It is large and is cut on 2 sides.

I checked with a number of very experienced locksmiths but they could not even try because nobody would have a blank nor a cutter which could cut 2 sided keys.

Eventually, I located the manufacturer and they did happily send me a couple of blanks. Then it took another few weeks to find a locksmith. This time, per recommendation, in Germany, where they do still use keys a little similar to my safe key.

it took 2 locksmiths to cut a spare that would work. Anyway, now I do have 3 spare keys.

The safe, however, is still empty.
