  • H3 Salon Slide Roof Seam Failure

Posted by B on April 16, 2019 at 10:09 pm

I have HWH slides in my 2000 H3. I have developed quite a water leak from the roof of the salon slide. As you can see from the picture, one of the seams on the slide roof has failed. What is the best way to repair this?

I can not tell where that seam is….However if there is structure under that seam then you need to clean the metal of all old adhesive, prep and primer metal, seal with sika. Then drill and slightly counter sink rivets along that seam to keep it down…It must be sealed completely which will be the biggest hurdle

    Jeff,

There are two seams on the roof of the slide. This is the one closest to the front of the coach. The second seam is still intact. I want to come to you to have this professionally repaired. I am working full time, so it will be awhile until I can come see you. In the interim, could I pack the seam with flex seal? I don’t want to do anything that will make the repair more difficult down the line.
