H3 Bay Door Hardware
I was looking around this past weekend and found that much of the hardware on the inside of the bay doors was loose. I also had lost 3 nuts off of hinge parts that I had to replace. Hinge and lock parts as well as bots holding the skin to the frame.
If you have an H3, you may want to check yours out to see if you have the problem. It was not limited to one side or the other, or swing out or lift up styles. All had something loose. Not a big deal to correct, but makes me wonder what is going on. It seems strange that so many would be loose on a 5 year old coach.

So far I have been lucky and not found the issue Mark has experienced, but if there were an issue on the chassis I would likely use something similar to Loc-Tite. I think Prevost is mostly if not all metric, and that being the case finding suitable lock nuts of the correct size might be difficult unless you are near a Fastenal or some other supplier.

More and more places are carrying metric fasteners, due to the increased use of them. Home Depot, Lowe’s etc now carry them.
If you decide to just use the blue Loctite (not red), remember to get the metric Loctite….

Just checked all mine and they’re all tight but I did have Jeff re-adjust all my doors a year ago… he may have tightened them I don’t know.

I’ve seen metric Loctite, they keep it next to the glass hammers and left-handed screwdrivers. :))

I’m less worried about mixing up metric and sae loctite than I am about mixing up the RH and LH Loctite. Use the wrong one and the nuts loosen themselves, unless you are driving in Australia. Then you have to use the LH on RH fasteners.

would that be covered under warranty if you purchased your coach from Liberty and they did their PDI?

I hate to admit this, but I never look at my bay door fasteners. If the door opens I stick my head in to get or see what I want. If I look at the fasteners it is by accident or something was not right with the door when I opened it.
Having said that I think I had to tighten a part of the bay door hardware once in 25 years. But Mark has this black cloud that hangs over his head. At least I think he does.

Not hardly worth driving to either Chicago or Stuart to get a few nuts and bolts tightened….(g)

I didn’t think it would be worth a special trip but wondered if you were going by one of their shops if they might help with that? Just curious about the warranty system.
