H3-40 Engine access
Probably a dumb question, but does the H3-40 VIP with a 8V92 DDEC II normally have access to the top of the engine from underneath the bed? I have not taken all the stuff and carpet out from under the bed to see what the floor looks like yet, but from what I can see in the engine compartment it does not look like it comes up. I hope I am missing something. If it does not how would I get to the drivers side valve cover to take it off?

Thought maybe Prevost could give you a little info. The XL’s have access panels, not familiar with the H.

I had an 87 XL which has less room over the top of the engine than an H3 and never had any work done, including a rebuild which involved replacing the heads, that needed to be done from above.
The coach had a removeable engine cover under the bed, and while it was easy to access and remove it was never needed and that included alternator removal which was done from below.

Hope you do it soon and let us know. My H3-40 developed an oil line leak in the back of the engine and it is now awaiting service at DD in Tampa. I sorta think the work can be done through the tag axle wheel well and frankly Miss Barbie probably wouldn’t let them into the coach anyway.
