  • Grohe Faucets

Posted by Tim on March 28, 2017 at 3:47 pm

After doing annual mainteance on my faucets, cleaning the aerators and other debri out of the lines, one of the O-Rings on my kitchen faucet broke due to dry rot. Long-story short, Grohe’s O-Rings are “metric” and cannot be found in the U.S. I tried everyone online, and plumbing houses like Ferguson’s.

Ended up calling Grohe and they’re sending me one for free, which is nice. In the meantime, I’m using a non-metric O-Ring that is a bit smaller. It’s holding fine for now, but it’s certainly a pain trying to locate a simple thing like O-Rings, which we all need to fix our faucet issues.

I was thinking about ordering a spare valve cartridge for my bathroom faucets and O ring kits for all the faucets for that very reason.

Grohe told me that if your not the original owner, they would charge me for a replacement valve. At their prices, it’s easier and cheaper replacing with a brand new Moen or Delta faucet … in an updated color (vs. gold).

There were two of the four lavatory Grohe faucets leaking on our coach. I went to see Glen at Plumbing Parts Plus in Milwaukee. He had them in stock. Told me that Grohe are not rebuildable.
