Getting Closer
Well we are getting closer to our goal. We took our coach to Commonwealth Coach for some upgrades last week. Traveling down 95 we saw 2 sets of 2 XL2’s heading north. Nice rides. We look forward to the days we’ll be the ones traveling. We took our coach in for 3 things this time. Our computer bay fans were not working. We were replacing the Trac Star & I wanted new side markers.Chuck & Cynthia took excellent care of us.
— The new markers look great. Amazng what the new LED lights and housings do for the appearence.
— new RF MOGUL sat is installed. So far i like it a lot. It is fast aquiring the Direct TV sats and gives a great signal.
— the computer fans were a pain for Chuck. To get to the fans, the joey bed and rails had the be removed. That allows the circuit board swivel arm to open allowing access to the cooling fans. Our fans were dead. 18 years on the little desktop fans took its toll. New fans are in and we are cooling our computer bay again.
August 6th we’ll finally get to start the new chapter in our lives. Pam has finished her USAF career and is on terminal leave (terminal leave is the leave you did not use before you hit yor retirement – not anything terminal in the bad sense of the word). I will stop working for the Air Force, as a civilian, on the 4th. The 6th is the day we start. One more trip south for the following:
– change all the fluids, hoses and belts
– new magnum ags install
– new whirpool fridge install
– new front mirrors
– bath/wax/polish
– new front glass
– replace rear loading lightsAfter that service work we have decided to go up to Maine. We’ll explore New England & visit with friends and our. colleagues from the air guard. As soon as mother nature says “cold” we shall become Snowbirds and head to awarmer climate. No snow shoveling & ice scraping if we can help it. Our plan is simple. If we cross a roadbridge & it says “bridge freezes before road” we are to far North.
