  • Generator Exhaust Hose Leak

Posted by Fred on January 4, 2017 at 11:19 pm

    Hi PC,

I noticed a small leak in the
flexible exhaust hose for my 17.5 Power Tech generator. I’m wondering where I can get a
replacement hose? The hose itself appears to have a braided outer coating and
looks to be about 5 feet long and maybe 1’ to and 1½-inch in diameter. It
starts on top of the engine and loops around towards the back of the bay on the
right side to the floor connection of the exhaust pipe itself under the bus.
The problem seems to be that the hose rests against the right rail of the joey
bed and when it’s completely in and locked in the bay I think that over the
years the vibration of the generator caused some chafing and friction that eventually wore
    a hole in the hose.

I can find some flexible hose
on line but nothing that looks like mine. Did Liberty use a regular hose and then
maybe wrap it with a woven insulation or coating of some kind?

    Any ideas would be
    appreciated.

I found hose part number WEB5000328A and webbing part number 8829K84 from Liberty in Chicago for $2190 for 6 feet. Not a bad price I thought it was going to be way more expensive coming from them. Live and learn.
