  • Galley A/C fan not blowing

Looking for info / troubleshooting on interior galley A/C fan not blowing (top of the fridge).

Smx all lit up for cold, compressor/fan running in the bay…for awhile then stops.

If the interior fan is not running you can’t expect the compressor to keep running. If there is no way to eliminate the heat created by the compressor, it will shut itself down to prevent excess pressure and additional damage. If you set the system to fan only, does the interior fan operate? If not, that’s where you need to start you trouble-shooting.

    Bill,

Checked power at the Cruisair board = OK,

Checked power at the junction box by the evap unit = OK

Tried to run fan only (SMX) = fan does NOT come on

Evap for the galey is behind the fridge, have access to it thru an access door from the bathroom/toilet area, not enough to work on the unit/replace the fan assembly, will need to pull/slide the fridge out to get access.

Got a new fan sub-assembly(motor/wheel/enclosure)to replace.

The Galey Cruisair unit was rebuilt with new compressor, reversing valve(was leaking), capacitors, overload relay.
