FYI Motosat Controllers & Repairs
Most Motosat users are painfully aware that Motosat is out of business. Luckily RF Mogul Inc. was founded shortly after Motosats demise and is owned and staffed with ex-Motosat engineers and technicians.
Recently I replaced my Motosat Nomad SD-2 controller with RF Mogul’s new Eagle RE-1 replacement. The new controller is a quantum improvement over the old Nomad. It has a GPS based location system, easier controls, manual aiming if desired and a slick LED control panel. This unit also controls RF Mogul’s complete satellite TV system which means that if your Motosat antenna fails you can buy the RF Mogul replacement antenna without needing to buy a controller. RF Mogul also repairs Motosat controllers.
Incidentally, RF Mogul repaired and warranteed my Nomad about two years ago. It’s still going strong and is available for $200.00.
