FWD Air Baffles ?
I have forward Air Baffles on My 1995 Shell / 1996 Liberty Conversion . I have talked to another Liberty Owner that has the Same Era Coach. And He does not have them. Just wondering if it was a Rare Item that did not get put on many coaches , Or if They are Common ? Maybe in the newer Rose Petal Coaches ?
I find that they will cut way down on the Rolling and Porpoising on Curvy or Rough Back Roads. But to achieve a Softer Ride on the Big Road , Turn them off. Kind of a Tuneable Front Suspension I guess. I have a Solid Front Axle.
Anyone Have them , Or know anything about them ?Thanks in Advance Folks

I cannot say what other conversions have but on our Liberty coaches they serve a good purpose. When it is cold they should be shut. This minimizes or eliminates any drafts from below the dash. On my current coach any time the webasto is being used they close automatically, with the default setting to have them open.
In the summer, due to the location of 2 Cruiseairs behind the front bumper they are open to add cooling air flow for the condensing units.
I had 2 solid axle coaches and my current IFS equipped coach. The only difference to me is the greater steering wheel cut making tighter turns possible. But I knew the turn limitations of the 45 foot solid axle and just got used to that turn radius. The new one turns much sharper but I cannot say I would miss it if I went back to a solid axle. I cannot tell any difference in ride or handling.

I don’t think so. If he talked to another owner who did not have them I’ll bet the ride is a little firm.
It reads to me like the front shutters behind the bumper.

Maybe Jon but I don’t know what the front shutters would have to do with the ride on country roads or the big road I could be wrong

You can stick with your story about the ride, but between you and me (we won”‘t tell anyone else) the shutters have nothing to do with the ride. But if you think the shutter switch makes the bus handle better ride smoother, take the turns better by all means do not be afraid to share that information with the other folks in the RV park.
In fact anything we tell them about Prevost coaches they will believe.
True story……We were somewhere in a campground near the northern IL, or southern WI border many years ago and the camp site was really uneven. So I put the level low in “automatic” in my Liberty and I hopped out of the bus. This was back when a Prevost was really rare. I saw a number of the folks in the campground staring at the coach while it leveled itself. The front was going up, the rear was going down and it was higher on the right than it was on the the left. It was a long day and when the others started questioning what they saw I said with a straight face that the bus is so smart it knows when it is in a camp site and it automatically levels itself.
So if you want to tell folks about how to improve your ride you have my full support.

Log it under the Rose Petal Catagory . The Nomenclacture Used By The Dip Stick that Made that Switch cover is Well , Creative ? Led My Mind down a Different path for Sure ! I still say I have a TOP SECRET Liberty Test Model ! Ha , Gotta laugh at Myself over that one ! Maybe the Neon Tube Switch Means / Neon LIGHTS ? I am batting about 50% ?

What the hell does shutters have to do with the ride?

I Don’t have Shutters , I have Baffles , The Switch Says So ! LOL Aparently Nothing ? But in My mind that Clunk was doing Something ?

Shutters and Baffles to me mean the same thing. But regarding a clunk, when the baffles/shutters are opened and closed there is a distinct sound made as the mechanism opens or closes them.
Bottom line………the indicator is there as an alert because in the winter they should be closed to minimize drafts for the front passengers and keep it warmer in those seats, but they should be open in the summer because the two Cruiseairs behind the bumper need the air flow to cool the condenser coils so the AC units will work.
It’s as simple as that and the baffles/shutters have nothing to do with the suspension or ride.

But evidently everyone’s Switch say Shutters instead of Baffles ? Anyone have a Switch that Says Baffles ?
No one spoke up and said , My Bafflle Switch controls My Front Cruise Air Shutters ?
Must have had a lot of Creepers scratching their Heads , That were afraid to Post about it ? The Phone lines were Hot across the Country over it !Switch should say Cruise Air Baffles ? IMO

It’s perfectly logical to me. Closing of the shutters (like taping of the air inlets on the front of race cars) causes the air to go around instead of into the coach and will undoubtedly lower the coefficient of friction and create more front downforce thereby smoothing the ride. I’m adding this to my checklist.

If you want downforce on your coach, put this guy in the front seat.
