Thanks for allowing me to state a discenting opinion and taking the time to reply. I am very happy with your decision to discontinue the cast of thousands rallies. They are a tremendous amount of work for Nancy, you and Jon and Di. I don’t remember it being a requirement that the rally organizers can’t have as much fun as the rest of us. Besides you fellas are getting on in years and we need to encourage you to take care of yourselves.

Our own preferences are for smaller rallies that have little or no formal plan. Brain picking seminars can easily be accomplished ad hoc and it seems like there is much less stress when there is no formal schedule of events. And yes, we would be just as likely to travel coast to coast to attend one or even two if they were scheduled with a conveniently short interval between them.

That said, an annual Prevost Grand Rally sounds like a great idea. Seems to me the big bucks players should take the lead in organizing same. They, after all, would derive the most potential profit from such an undertaking. I would hope that PC, The Prouds, Texas Prouds, and POG would all participate as invitees.

Depends on what “early May” means. If the week end of the 16,17 I have some interest. I have to in Tampa on the 4th and be there all week. I hate when work gets in the way of fun but – it pays the bills.

Our objective from the beginning of time was and still is to bring all groups together for a large rally. We tried for a couple of years to get Jim Skiff to do it via Prevost Stuff but when it was clear that would not happen Tom and I created PC with moral support from Prevost. We announced the beginning of PC at a POG rally in Austin.

Where we got blindsided was we didn’t know POG was being sold and that PC wasn’t going to be viewed as a supplement to all the groups, but as competition to the new POG owner’s business enterprise. Even today there is a core group of POG members who would rather eat bees than acknowledge PC. The owner of POG has done a great job of spreading disinformation about PC and its objectives. It is clear the owner of the POG business will never participate in a multi group rally despite the fact Tom and I have done our best to try to make him and everyone else realize we are not competing with any Prevost enthusiast group.

Our decision to stop doing rallies is because PC is not a business. We take in some money to pay for diesel fuel, but the hours Tom and I spend daily have us working for lar less than minimum wage if any. We are doing what we are doing because we are dyed in the wool Prevost enthusiasts and owners and want to gather our collective strength to provide as many benefits for ourselves and other owners as possible. The rallies were turning out to take a huge amount of our time, expose us to financial risk, and we realized with all the other groups putting on rallies we did not need to do so. Instead of us doing rallies we will try to promote all groups and their rallies. If our members want to put on informal rallies we will post it, support it on the forum and even participate by attending.

But as far as the future we will continue to work with all groups that are willing to come together to create a huge rally, just like the ones the Prevost Prouds used to have.

In case anyone feels sorry for Tom and I for the work we are doing, don’t. You have no idea how much enjoyment and satisfaction we get administering PC and doing what we do. Instead of thanking us, all PC members should thank our advertisers because without their revenue we would not be able to pay for the costs associated with having a site like this. You also need to thank yourselves because as our numbers continue to grow we are going to continue to work to try to put together more programs for our mutual benefit such as the fuel discount program and the NAPA fleet discount program.

Don’t do it unless you just don’t really care where you money goes! Too many sites and too many sites for sale. I guess if you have 40 years or so for your dollars to provide a return this might come somewhere close to being considered an investment. If you don’t care about an investment and simply are looking for somewhere to rest your tires (before it’s too hot or too cold) you might like it.

As always your reply summed it up perfectly. You and Tom are the go to guys, You and your wives don’t need the agravation of trying to run a Social Club.. What you have created with PC is perfect for the needs of us bus owners, Prevost and otherwise,

The fact you and Tom have both decided to share your time and knowledge with us is far beyond the call to duty. I cannot think of any two individuals I have experianced in my many bus owners days that could equal your knowledge and commitment to keep us correctly informed and on the right track. We have all experianced the joys, trials and trivulations of bus ownerships and will continue to need the help provided by your forum, you and it’s members.

Socially: Sure we all have our memories of the good times and friends made at our get togrethers. Those will not stop. We will find ways to continue to get our wheels side by side in some wonderful places eating and enjoying one anothers company.

Jon and Tom,

My first experience with this group was at the rally in Branson last fall as we had just begun our search for our first Prevost. We ended up purchasing a bus that Dave Wall had brought up to show at the rally. What an amazing machine. There is no comparison between our bus and our previous plastic coach. The two of you were very instrumental in our final decision. Your help and advice were much appreciated. We would have loved to have been able to attend the Tampa rally but had to be back in Missouri before the end of March. I’m sorry to hear that this may be the last rally you put together but I can’t imagine the amount of time and effort that’s involved.

On a sad note (for me) we still have not been able to sell our previous coach. My wife was not very excited about buying the bus before getting our other coach sold so if something doesn’t happen here pretty soon I may have to consider putting them both up for sale and keeping which ever one doesn’t sell first.
