By far not a expert: We do our own in the coaches. Mostly to get good fit and utlitize available space. Some of the materials we use are 5 inch high density foam for the seat cushions. nice and firm and is good for naps also. For the back of the sofa we use a medium density 4 inch for a little more spring and comfort. Personal choice also Judy makes Indivual pillows about 3 inches thick to go over the 4 inch back foam. One reason for that is you can remove them and gives you more naping area. Our new sofa is 109 inches long with 5 full debth drawers underneath 12 inches tall and 30 inches deep with the fronts matching the Black Cherry kitchen cabinets.(I haven’t finished the drawers yet). each end of the sofa has a black Quartz arm rest/table to match the rest of the coach counter tops. Color is Rust with Ivory trim. Will post picture in few days when time permits. point being any one can do it. Total cost around $500. The foam being the big cost. over $250. It sits so gooood nap pretty good also. Bob
