  • Fuel splash back filling bus

Posted by George on January 17, 2021 at 10:39 am

Earlier post by Jon back in 2012

It was sometime in the mid 90’s when Prevost added the fuel filler on both sides of the coach. After they did that it took a few more years before they figured out how to stop the fuel from puking back out of the filler neck, splashing diesel fuel on everything in a 3 foot radius.

What year was the change made and what was done to stop back splash?

Mine didn’t splash 3 feet but did spit back just as auto cut off stopped fuel, 1997 chassis.

Is some over fill condition still normal?

We had the same problem. We fixed ours with kit listed in the bottom post here.

Interesting. I never had a fuel splash in 8 years (1999 coach, 1998 chassis).

We were disappointed to discover the coach we were looking to buy (97 chassis, 98 model) did not have the dual fill option so we still have to fill from “the wrong side”. Not sure if this is something Country Coach eliminated to allow for the power reel for the power cord or if they were not yet doing the 2nd fill.

I believe they did have dual fill, mid nineties perhaps?

My 1980 liberty 40 Ft had duel fills, 1997 40 ft does not
