Loves after PC discount in Emerson, GA was 3.18 and Jasper, FL 3.28.
Note to self, never again travel I-75 from GA to FL the Sunday after Turkey Day. Backed up from Ocala to Widwood, both north and south, took 8 hrs to do 300 miles.

I guess I don’t understand the mindset of Prevost bus drivers.
They all say they love their Prevost, especially how much they love driving it. So instead of covering 300 miles in 5 hours or less, Tom seems upset it took 8 hours. What am I missing? All those holday travelers just allowed him to enjoy an extra 3 hours driving his coach.
And then we have the northerners and you know who you are. You have a bus, but it is put to bed for the winter while we hear about the snow and cold………..c’mon, that bus needs to be pointed south and driven toward some Equatorial sunshine instead of remaining in that Artic sunshine. Find something wrong with the coach or some service work it needs and use that as an excuse to go to Prevost in Jacksonville.

Your “traffic” looks to be moving, perhaps not at your desired speed. At least I don’t see a uniform sea of red tail lights on. So be happy, at that slower speed you were possibly missing out on enjoying your highest MPG achievement yet.
On my Thanksgiving trip, although not in my coach since Jeff has it, my “Traffic” experience on I-85 at the US 74 West interchange was totally stopped, a veritable SEA of red tail lights in front of me. Not having travelled US 74 West, I took a deep breath and made the exit. Turned out to be a great decision since the only other traffic problem on the way to our destination was in Shelby. Got through there in about five minutes and then free running. I decided to travel more US routes on these super holiday travel weekends in the future, as soon as Jeff gets done with our coach … oh wait a minute, we have to pick out fabric colors for reupholstry before Jeff can return it to us.
So Tom, always look for the good in everyday and a smile will come over your face, making Nancy very happy!

It did warm up to above zero, so that should count for something…
We won’t be going out with the bus until spring. However, we are going south for a vacation this winter, but since it is way south of Hawaii, the bus can’t get us there. So we will warm up on that trip and use the bus in the summer.

Will – On two occasions the tranny was in neutral and the parking brake on with high idle. Does that count?
Jon – The extra 3 hours was not a smiling experience, if you think peope are stupid at 70MPH, the weaving and cutting at 10 MPH will have you getting out the blood pressure cuff.

Tom, was the park brake on to go adjust the t stats down since the dash air was not able to keep you cool? Or possibly to apply those for sale by owner signs in the windows?!

I really hate to admit this but Tom has zeroed in on a sore subject with his comments about stupid people at 70 and at 10 MPH.
One of the reasons for my 62 MPH speed is almost all the drivers are going faster than that. The significance of being the slowest vehicle on the road is I am just cruising along and what the others do with respect to lane changes, speed, lane blocking, etc. has little or no impact on me. If I need confirmation of that all I have to do is adjust speed to the flow of traffic to see how it affects me. With the car nearing completion in Cookeville I am now making frequent 120 mile (240 round trip) trips and in my cars I want to go with the flow or even a little faster.
The stupid people block the passing lane by sitting along side the car in the slow lane. The ones in the slow lane will often jump into my lane but going slower than me just so they don’t get stuck behind someone going slow in their lane. Even if I am exceeding the speed limit there is always a fool that is going to run up on my bumper. The car I drive DOES impact how others drive. Nobody ever will try to intimidate me when I am in the Corvette. The Mercedes seems to invite the rednecks to tailgate even well over the limit.
It is getting to be less fun driving. I have learned to zone out and let the idiots do what they want to do. But like Tom points out the jerks that change lanes and try to get ahead of everyone really make heavy traffic a bad situation because far to often they steal our safe stopping distance and then it is no longer relaxing to drive, but a stress filled contest.
But sometimes there is justice. I was passing a line of traffic the other day and a big pickup truck ran right up my tail fast. He was just a few feet away from my bumper and I was 10 over the speed limit. When I cleared the car at the front of the line in the slow lane he couldn’t wait for me to get ahead enough so I wasn’t cutting the guy off. He cut the guy off and passed on my right. Even at 10 over the limit I got the finger for not getting out of this guy’s way. But a couple of miles ahead there he was on the shoulder and the cop was just about to greet him. He was so intent on speeding ahead of me he likely failed to see the cop. I took the opportunity to give a few loud toots on the horn along with a big wave. There is justice.

Just so you know, the US doesn’t have a monopoly on idiots on the road. Suffice to say, I see similar things to what you describe here in the UK all the time. I like the m’cycle cos very few people try to ‘race’ you and my truck as unlike the US, it is likely to be more intimidating than most other vehicles on the road. Have yet to find someone willing to try it on. Like you Jon, more often than not, I let the other idiots fight for that exta couple of yards progress and I just do my thing on the near side lane.
Trouble is, you can’t tell an idiot he (or she) is an idiot because they think they are gods gift to driving.

The first converter to offer a large cannon on the front of a Prevost is going to sell a lot of new coaches.
My wife wants the first one built with that option.
