Ed,
My guage is not working and I followed the testing resulting in the sender unit being bad. I have ordered the new sender unit from Prevost but wanted to get any lessons learned on replacing it. Problems getting it loose? Tools that helped? Required diesel level (it seems high in the tank)? Any gotchas getting it out.
Thanks for any advice.

Mike,
The only difficulty I had was tipping the plate enough to get the long sender out. Might made right ! There were Aquahot and generator fuel and return hoses connected to the plate that made it a little diffficult. I did use an air ratchet to remove the nuts to make it a little easier.
I dissassembled my old sending unit. The root cause of the intermittent problem appears to be a small amount of “corrosion/garbage” build-up of material on the float. The float then does not move up and down the tube smoothly. Knowing what I know now, replacing the sender was the best approach.
