Front Shades
Has any body replaced the front shades on their coach, mine are black and cause a lot of heating on the inside of the coach in the front, They look good with the black scheme paint but siver or gray or even white would probably reduce the temp by 20 degrees, in the drivers area, if you have replaced them who did you use and how much to do it? Now for another question, I am in Clearwater for a replace ment HD reciever, talked to a guy about polishing my fuel? Said it would increase fuel mileage? Would have to put additive in at every fuel fill? I change the fuel filters at about 3500 miles and oilfilters every 6000 miles have not had any problems, Some one done this? how was it, cost about 650.00 I am told and also have to change all fuel filters, Gary

At Oysterfest my fuel will be polished and I will start a program to evaluate claims of increased mileage.
When Tom first posted he had his fuel polished and how much difference it made in how his genset ran I went to the company web site and at the time the company claimed a 10% to 15% improvement in mileage. Since I have been doing tests on my coach for the last couple of years to measure how certain changes effect economy I was skeptical about the mileage increase claims and posted my opinion on this forum,
The company is going to give me an opportunity to eat crow or prove their claims wrong.
I can tell you that since I started with simple changes to my coach I have a 5% improvement in mileage. To get significant gains on the order of 10% or greater is going to be difficult and expensive so I am anxious to see if the claims are true.
I visited the site yesterday and the claims of mileage improvement are no longer on the site in terms of percentage of improvement. It does mention improved mileage, but no longer makes claims as to how much of an improvement.
I intend to report back after a substantial number of miles and refueling so the test is comprehensive and fair.

I completely forgot to mention that I had my front shades changed by Liberty prior to picking up our current coach. They are a tan color and the difference in heat compared to the black shades is significant. I would even go so far as to suggest the use of white shades.

I did not have my fuel polished, I treated my first fuel fill up after leaving Parliament with a double dose of Desl Shok and have been using it since with good results as posted earlier. I haven’t a clue as to fuel mileage improvement, Jon’s testing starting at Foley will answer that question in due time.

Well I did the fuel polishing yesterday, My fuel was super clean, the micron filter 4 microns only picked up a couple small pieces of tash about the size of a pin head, they said it was the cleanest checked so far, I keep the fuel topped off all the time and change filters often, will report on any increase in “fuel miliage” The product is added at each fuel stop 1 oz to 12 gal for a 120 gal fill up about 100 to 120 dollars, will keep all posted, Gary

Gary we put in Auto Motion shades and have been very pleased with them. We had the visor strip put on the day shade and they work great as a sun visor.We have the double roller shades that have both day and night.
