Jeff offered to put the smoke back in, but he wouldn’t come down on his price, i even offered some smoke I recovered from an old computer I fried when my coffee spilt on it. He has some special smoke that liberty produces, says it’s the only smoke that will work in their coaches.

I had an original (MSW) inverter in our Liberty fail last summer, of course it was the one that the refrigerator was on. Jeff talked me through how to rewire so the shore power and generator would by-pass the failed inverter. It was more intimidating than hard to do. Actually pretty easy. Then between Christmas and New Years Jeff fixed me up with two brand new, FSW inverters.
I’d be interested to know what kind of surge protector was being used (if any) and what the circumstances of the surge was.
Finally, is that the kind of “event” that could set a coach on fire?

It seems a surge protector can deal with attenuated surges caused by power line strikes in the distance but not with close in strikes. The high voltage surge simply bridges across the varistors in the surge protector.
I disconnect shore power and run the generator when I see a thunderstorm heading our way. Obviously only works if I’m around the bus.

Bundling can save money. Jeff would probably be more than happy to bundle that slightly used inverter with my former Vanner monitor pictured below. I can’t remember the core credit he gave me, but it was very substantial.
