If I’m not mistaken, NAPA had the proper pump for mine either in stock or available overnight.

P.S. I grew up in Cleveland. What the heck are you doing there in December!!!??? I suspect you must REALLY love your family!

Carter makes an exact replacement for the Yanmar fuel pump that runs around $38, I’ll get the part number later today when I get home. When you reset your watchdog does the engine start at all? only runs for a few seconds and shuts down? If it starts and shuts down there is a fuseable link that sometimes fails and is a cheap fix, worst case scenario is a circuit board that runs quite a bit more.

Here is a picture of the culprit - the backflow preventer.

My generator saga is offically over. After much trouble shooting, I discovered the backflow preventer was seized close. How this happened I have no idea, but after disassembly, cleaning, and reinstallation, it functioned correctly, and soooooo did the generator.

A huge thanks to all of you for help offered. This was a great opportunity to witness the kindness of this community, and learn more about my generator.

PS – the picture is upside down, and yes, the cobwebs are real!!

Looks like I learned something, too. I didn’t know I had a backflow preventer in the fuel line and I’m assuming we have similar gensets. Looks like a plumbing fixture. I wonder if it was added by a previous owner to try to alleviate an issue.
