Freedom 458 ?
Who is the “go to” guy at Inverter Service for questions?
After a flawless run to Petoskey and back, when I restored shore power in the barn, the Freedom 458 Inverter/charger did not go into charge mode. It transferred the inverter leg to shore power but the battery voltage did not change.
I cycled the power on and off and verified the setup settings for battery type and size. No change to the charge status. Battery voltage was about 12.9 which was expected after a 300 mile run. Overnight the voltage dropped to 12.7 which would also be expected after the surface charge dissipated and no load on the batteries.
This morning I went to put a wrench on the bumper bolts, my inverters are in the spare tire compartment, and I heard a “click”. Inverter when into charge mode and is now in float at 13.1 volts.
It acted like a relay in the Inverter finally closed. Does anyone know if this relay has been a problem? What say the board before I call the pros? What should I ask?
