Ha! I did that! But of course, on our bus you can only really see it on the side!
It’s just a strip of Red led tied into the parking lights. Looks much better in person than the pic….

You guys don’t know what engine compartment light is. If any of you want to see real lighting, bring some Woodford Reserve over ice to me and I will throw the switch and light my 54″ LED driving light bar that is over my engine.
You will need your own welding goggles and will have to sign a release just in case you get too close to the lights.
I’m not saying my engine compartment lights are bright, but if I leave them on too long I end up heat treating the cast iron engine block.

Does the abuse ever end? At my age I need a little more light than normal to see stuff.
It is not all wasted. I ship the excess lighting in my engine bay back up to the sun where it recyles it.
If any of you believe that come see me about this great bridge I have in Brooklyn to sell.

Jon: what color LEDs? Can you post a picture or two?

The LEDs are a blazing pure white. The light bar is intended to be placed on the top of an off road vehicle to provide sufficient light to see deer 5 miles away in the dark.
In my previous coach I had two high intensity driving lights and they were sufficient in case someone needed to do micro-surgery in the engine area. The lighting now installed is like comparing a bottle rocket to a Saturn V moon rocket.
