Foggy Window Fix
Diane and Larry Byrd asked about foggy drivers side window fix at Houston Prevost. Total was 6.7 hours labor at $109 per hour. ($741.20) and $299.22 for parts. Total $1040.42. Didn’t ask before hand or just woulda looked though the fog!

Cannot begin the compare an XL (not an XLII) window replacement with that of an H3 or an XLII.
Different animals, and likely the H3 window removal involves just smashing it.

Also, keep in mind the folks at Hudson will only deal with flat glass.

Thanks for the reply… The reason I asked was I thought I may have misunderstood about repairing a foggy window… I didn’t know that Prevost would do that… thought you had to go somewhere that specializes in glass repairs.

Another approach is just replacing that foggy window yourself as I did. I paid around $350 for the side window and a tube of Sikaflex from Prevost Parts, cut the old one out, cleaned the original glue from the frame and glued the new one in. Breaking the original window isn’t necessary – run a box cutter blade around it and it comes out. It’s not rocket science. I’m no glass man, but the pros complimented me on the job… and I work really cheap! I’ve got photos if anyone is interested.

We who have time available to us would take the pains to do as Ron has done.
If you take the coach for repairs it is likely they will cover the glass inside and out with the sticky cellophane that is used as a carpet protector and the tech’s will just smash the glass. I replaced side glass on my XL coach and I removed it as Ron did.

I had my 1996 prevost coach foggy stationary driver side window removed the double pains split apart cleaned and resealed for $92.21 on October 26 2012 invoice # 4224. In West Virginia the window company is under new management Top Hat Chimney Sweep with the same window repair employees call 304 536 1515 or 304 667 7997. The glass is perfictly clear as of March 20 2013 what else can I say other than I arrived at closeing time 10/25/13 parked on their lot overnight and was back on the road at around 3 pm 10/26/13

dunkin glass in florida and Indiana will remove , split, clean, and resell for cheap! Problem is, they did mine twice and it’s fogged again! Maybe 2 years old since the first time!

I had my driver’s side window replaced at Trawick when I purchase my bus and then one of my side fixed-panel windows replaced at Jeff’s. It was about the same price …
